Favorite Scripture Verse:
“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what He has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?" Psalms 56: 3-4
Name One Thing You Cannot Walk Away From:
A good book! I’m not overly picky on the genre, but once I’ve started the book it’s hard for me to stop reading until the book is finished. And what goes hand-in-hand with a good book? COFFEE. I’m counting a good book and coffee as one thing.
I come from a huge extended family on both sides. Although I’m known as “auntie” to a lot of my friends' kids, I have three nieces and one nephew.
Best Place You Have Traveled:
Years ago I was fortunate to be among a limited group of college journalists to travel to India where we traveled for three weeks working on international news stories. The experiences from visiting the Taj Mahal and traveling south to swim in the Arabian Sea will always be an important part of my story.
Weirdest Job You Have Ever Had:
I was a photojournalist for a newspaper for two years and photographed a lot of fun things, but also quite a lot crime scenes. Would I do it again? Absolutely.
Another Job You Would Love To Have For One Day:
I’m a travel fanatic so I’d have to say I’ve dreamt of becoming a travel writer/photographer.
I’m really into cultures and maybe that has something to do with my family. I’m Italian/Irish on one side and Jamaica/German on the other side, so I go from craving spaghetti to craving Jamaican dumplings and curry pretty frequently.
How You Want The World To Remember You:
I want to leave the legacy of being a person who brought joy into situations where joy seemed less than possible. I want to be known as a person who pursued Jesus and strived to become like Him, serving and loving the “least of these” in order to lead them to understand the love of Christ.
