RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Community Resources, and following Center policy and procedure, actively recruits groups and individual donors to meet the blood needs of Shepeard Community Blood Center. Recruits new blood drive sponsors to broaden the donor base and increase collections by engaging community within assigned territory and scheduling mobile blood drives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but not limited to: 1. Collections Management 1.1 Manages and analyzes mobile blood drives for assigned territory to meet collection goals. 1.2 Accountable for projection accuracy for mobile drives. 1.3 Performs a quarterly/annual analysis of sponsors within assigned territory to identify productivity concerns and opportunities. 1.4 Performs a quarterly/annual analysis of assigned territory highlighting economic environment, new business development, community focus and potential collections growth. 1.5 Engages in Public Relations efforts within the territory assigned to increase visibility and awareness for Shepeard Community Blood Center and the blood drives. 1.6 Recruits blood donors at mobile blood drives as required and or needed to collect blood products. 2. Sponsor Management 2.1 Maintains current information, in departmental database, for all sponsors within assigned territory and develops and nurtures a strong professional relationship with each. 2.2 Verifies accurate quantities of promotional materials needed, produces and ensures delivery of recruitment materials in a timely manner as requested by the sponsor’s group chairperson. 2.3 Attends blood drives as needed and as often as possible. 2.4 Ensures proper follow-up is performed after a blood drive. Every blood drive sponsor should be contacted and thanked the day following the drive. 2.5 Submits to the Director of Community Resources on a quarterly basis, a list of sponsors or potential sponsors where assistance is needed from Shepeard Community Blood Center Executive Team to garner support. 3. Professional Development 3.1 Fulfills continuing educational and training requirements of the Center and Community Resources department. 3.2 Conducts self in departmental and interdepartmental relations in a manner that promotes teamwork and a positive work environment. 3.3 Engages in special event participation for blood drives with the Marketing and Communications Manager or designee, as directed by the Director of Community Resources. 3.4 Participates in volunteer placement with the Marketing and Communications Manager, as directed by the Director of Community Resources. 4. Other duties as assigned. SCOPE OF AUTHORITY REPORTING: The employee is required to perform assigned daily routines on a timely basis. The employee is expected to work with other departmental employees, as well as employees in other departments, as a team in order to provide the best quality service to donors. The employee reports to the Director of Community Resources.

QUALIFICATIONS Education · High school or equivalent. College degree with completion of sales courses preferred. · Public relations/advertising/marketing/communications background. Experience Two (2) years experience in the following preferred: · Outside sales, marketing and public speaking preferred. · Dealing with the public, demonstrating excellent customer service skills required. · Event planning and execution. · Independently developing and managing multiple projects. Knowledge and Skill Abilities · Must have above average verbal, interpersonal and observational skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the donating public, sponsors, supervisors and co-workers. · Must have exceptional writing skills. · Must be able to find solutions to problems and be able to adapt to constantly changing situations. · Must be able to use, or be trained to use, an Access database, Microsoft Office Suite. · Must have sales ability to be able to persuade employees, donors, sponsors, and volunteer blood drive coordinators to work on behalf of the Center. · Must exhibit high level of ability to work independently, multi-task and have above average time management/organizational skills. · Must maintain a 95% attendance rate. Licenses/Certifications · N/A PHYSICAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: Employee will be regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, push/pull and lift up to 20 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a busy, sales office-type environment. Work assignments may take Recruiter out of office between 30- 50% of work time.
